Here’s an organization that’s stirring up some good feelings in the Detroit area.

Detroit SOUP is a monthly dinner funding micro-grants for creative projects in Detroit. The director of the organizaiton, Amy Kaherl, will be one of the speakers at Friday’s CreativeMornings/Detroit event—all around food!

Amy, along with Detroit SOUP, was honored as a Champion of Change with the White House around the idea of crowdfunding.

The second speaker will be Nicole Rupersburg, a well-established Detroit-based food, culture and travel writer for dozens of publications, including Model D and the New York Post. She is also “the opinionated diner extraordinaire behind the city’s most raucous food blog,” Eat It Detroit.
