We totally adore this existential calculator created by paper-pro Kelli Anderson. Asked to to “make something interesting” for designers attending AIGA’s annual event by Adobe, Kelli set to task on this project involving two of her favorites: lo-fi prognostication equipment and paper calculation wheels.

Should I take that job? Should I make that zine? Illustrate that book? The Existential Calculator is a tool intended to help you answer those tricky questions.

Read more about it over on her blog and watch her CreativeMornings talk here.

We’re launching shorts! Pulling some of the best moments from CreativeMornings talks around the world, we want to share with you some of the greatest takeaways from our speakers.

This one features Nick Campell from CreativeMornings/Chicago, on not being the best one in the room. Guaranteed to be one of the best two minutes of your day.

What makes you happy?

This month marks the first global theme for CreativeMornings, where all 42 chapters will be talking about “Happiness.”

We want to know, what makes YOU happy? Photo reply to this post with a photo of something around you—could be your studio space, a friend, the weather—anything that is a source of happiness for you!

The speaker for this Friday’s CreativeMornings/Chicago will be Scott Reinhard, Senior Designer at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. At the museum he creates exhibition identities, exhibition catalogues, and other printed ephemera to support the museum’s identity and programming.

Before his work with the museum, Scott was a Senior Designer at the Chicago-based firm VSA Partners where he worked with Converse, IBM, and Motorola, among others. His work has appeared in publications such as Matériel, Print, and Grafik. Scott is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Above is a small selection of his work.
