Sometimes you just need to grab the reins and f*cking do it. At our Vancouver chapter, letter artist Jessica Hische speaks on the intersection of arts and technology through the lens of web typography.

As part of the special Art + Tech themed month in coordination with John Maeda’s team at RISD, our speaker on June 8th, 2012 was renowned letterer, illustrator, web designer, and self-described crazy cat lady, Jessica Hische. Watch the talk. →

Introduction to Lettering: One Letterform at a Time

One of our favorite people of all time is teaching a Skillshare course! The one and only Jessica Hische will be teaching Introduction to Lettering: One Letterform at a Time. The class kicks off with creating a drop cap, something she knows a thing or two about, to say the least. Check it out!

While you’re at it, check out Jessica’s CreativeMornings talk from our Vancouver event—all about grabbing the reins and f*cking doing it.

Hooray! The always amazing Jessica Hische hand-lettered this beautiful poster which is currently arriving in mailboxes around the globe as part of fulfillment for our Kickstarter Campaign.

In this CreativeMornings/Vancouver talk, renowned letterer, illustrator, self-proclaimed “avid internetter" Jessica Hische speaks colorfully about her perspective on the importance of typography as an example of the intersection of art and technology. If you identify with the term “type nerd,” kern like there’s no tomorrow, or resent when people use the term “code monkey,” you’ll love this talk.

A big thank you to Adobe for sponosoring and W2 Media Café & GDC/BC for hosting. Three cheers for Ryan Mah, Mahyar Saeedi, Jake Hermiston and Matthew Shettler for video production.
