Makeshift Society is building a clubhouse—in Brooklyn!

Makeshift Society is a community for creative freelancers and independent workers currently located in San Francisco, CA. Their space allows people to work, take classes, attend events and collaborate on projects. After opening a year ago, they’re ready to bring the Makeshift goodness to Brooklyn before 2014.

If you think the project is cool, the rewards are even better. Featuring some amazing designers and illustrators, some of the rewards include a gorgeous handkerchief designed by one of our favorites, Stewart Scott-Curran, a Google Hangout with Grace Bonney and Lisa Congdon, wallpaper designer by Julia Rothman, and much more!

Check out their project and back them on Kickstarter. → “Make shi(ft) happen in New York.”

At CreativeMornings/Pittsburgh, Brad Frost speaks on information, bullshit, craft and the future. As part of our April theme, “The Future,” Brad talks on the information overload we currently experience, how most of it is bullshit, and what this means for us moving forward.

In a world where 10% of all the books written and photos taken came into existence in the last year, how do we get back to what is really important and keep ourselves sane. Brad believes that ‘craft’ is the answer to this, a belief that gives him hope for our future.
